I already know that these cameras are made from plastic, but didn't realise they were disposable!

Email from Jake Cook BMD UK Support:

'My name is Jake and I’m the head of the Digital Cinema Support team

I have discussed your case and the images you provided with our engineers and we believe the behaviour you are experiencing is directly related to the sensor.'

'I'm sorry to say this is not a part we stock and therefore we cannot sell or supply it from technical support and the camera appears to be beyond economic repair'

So I asked for just the flexy cable assembly for the matching EVF, and got no reply!

Tried again still no reply?

Tried again asking for a well passed around demo / broken camera to salvage the parts,

you guessed it.. No reply..

I guess I will have to turn up in person with the broken camara and maybe a banner warning off potential buyers of the 6K Pro..

You support me, and I will support you Blackmagic Design..

Maybe liquidising (sorry, Freudian Slip!) this company might not be such a bad idea..

UPDATE: Just settling in at Amsterdam RAI delving into the Mini Bar and looking forward to IBC2026

I have three new pfGlass series prototypes with me. No booth required!

I missed day 1. Had a little too much from the mini bar!

So far pretty disappointing, Nothing much to write home about.

Just the usual firmware tweaks a plethora of generic Chinese lenses and AI integrations nobody asked for!

The good stuff was behind glass, so a bit of a wasted journey (apart from my hotel's Mini Bar!)

First port of call on return to Manchester:

I can tolerate a lot of things but poor manners to a well invested customer of BMD does not sit well with me. I find myself at a disadvantage as the incommunicado support staff I communicate with have my full name and address (A situation I will correct in the following days!) and I live within 14 miles of Blackmagic UK HQ not to mention Holdan in my home Town and the notably strange North West England Cheshire) Blackmagic Design presence?

Me thinks this may call for a couple of my drones up to audit the sites..

Built my own Camera updater app

with logging and a deliverable firmware package with debugging to help find this hardware fault..
